Hidden Star Commons began with a simple belief, Community is not something we find. It is something we create together.
Inspired by the Earth Star hidden within Nova Scotia’s wild blueberries and later the star hidden within every apple, Hidden Star Commons is an emerging initiative rooted in connection, stewardship, learning, and belonging.
We believe healthy land nourishes healthy people, people build strong communities, and communities become stewards of the land. Hidden Star Commons exists to explore what becomes possible when people gather around shared values, shared purpose, and a shared commitment to caring for one another and the places we call home.
We envision spaces where people can gather around a table, around a fire, around food, around ideas, and around meaningful conversation. A place where relationships are nurtured. A place where knowledge is shared. A place where people of all ages can reconnect with land, community, and themselves.
As this vision unfolds, Hidden Star Commons will continue to evolve through collaboration, education, food, culture, stewardship, and community-led initiatives. We do not believe the future is something we build alone, we believe it is something we co-create together.

If you cut an apple across its middle, a five-pointed star appears at its core. That hidden star reminds us that the most meaningful things are often already present, waiting to be discovered.
